After that, I was able to pull Ben and Joe into the studio for some additional big-picture analysis. Joe offered an overview of the financial state of the watch industry and how it's been impacted by global events, Ben reviewed the state of the auction world and the market for the link most popular watches, and we all talked about what we hope to see in the coming decade. I won't spoil it too much, link but the link conversation is equal parts insightful and fun.

I generally look at high-end independent timepieces the way I look at link hypercars or airplanes. I follow the new releases from MB&F, Ferdinand Berthoud, F.P. Journe, and the like, and I appreciate them for advancing independent horology and keeping the savoir faire in the craft – but I don't aspire to link own anything coming link out of those workshops, because I know the odds are too low and the price is too high.

But that's not enough, link I'd want link to have two dial options: black with yellow gold subdials and gold with black subdials, neither of which should have circular inner accents or any other colors. Just straight-up, link pure, classic Daytona. –Mark Kauzlarich, Editor

Complete with a link case crafted out of Grade 5 Titanium and a blue ceramic bezel inlay embellished with link a regatta timer, there is no better Smartwatch on the market better suited to the needs of a modern-day sailor. Access stream data, or connect Garmin's SAIL link ASSIST, and even engage auto-pilot functions if you have compatible sailing devices aboard your vessel.

The fancy alligator strap and modern steel folding clasp do feel a bit too luxe and contemporary on the Carrera link 160 Years Silver Limited Edition. At its launch in 1963, link the 2447 cost less than $100. If there is a disconnect between the strap link and watch, it's surely an easy fix, though. How cool would it be to put this guy on something with a bit more of a vintage vibe, like, say, the racing strap seen on the above 2447SD toward the top of this article?
