JANUARY 23, 2026 | NEW YORK, NY - New York-based alternative/indie artist Mechanical Woman has released her new single and music video “Mechanical Woman,” out on all digital music platforms NOW. The track marks the first glimpse into her forthcoming album Voice of an Old Soul (release date TBA), setting the tone with layered soundscapes and intricate guitar work that resist easy categorization. Built from a fiercely DIY creative process  - including a self-constructed recording booth made entirely from salvaged wood - the self-titled track reflects Mechanical Woman’s commitment to experimentation and autonomy. Her work is rooted in the ongoing creation of reflective artwork, and the song “Mechanical Woman” introduces an artist who is unafraid to carve her own creative space, as she boldly (and artistically) defines the meaning of being ‘mechanical’ on her own terms.About the single, she says:

Mechanical Woman is a New York–based musician, producer, and storyteller whose work explores the connection between intuition, identity, and complex musicality. Raised in Chicago, she took a path far different than the rest of her family. Adopted at birth, she found there was a natural calling for personal discovery and the understanding of her differences. The question of what sets her apart and how to harness that individuality found its answer in music and visual arts. The arts became a constant thread in her life that would eventually shape how she interprets and translates the world through her music.

Her stage name reflects the balance between resilience and expression. “Mechanical” speaks to the act of building, from the recording booth she constructed out of salvaged wood to the systems she created to carry herself through personal change. “Woman” grounds the project in identity and fluidity, capturing the emotional core of her work.

Her upcoming debut album brings this artistic vision into focus with what she describes as a "blue" sonic palette - layered, shifting soundscapes anchored by intricate guitar work, while refusing to be confined to a single genre or approach.

“Mechanical Woman” is out on all music platforms NOW.
