Katie Fee’s love of music stems from an early age in which she listened to ‘90s country artists such as Shania Twain, Faith Hill, and Deana Carter. In the Fall of 2017, Katie left her hometown of Sioux Falls, SD to attend Belmont University in Nashville, TN, where she studied music business. Since moving to Music City, Katie has thrown herself into Nashville’s songwriting community, co-writing with other songwriters and playing in writers’ rounds around town.

Throughout 2023, Katie has been releasing singles from her highly-anticipated debut album, "Runaway Heart," including "Hello Good Times," "Just Needs You," "Ghost," "Haven't Even Poured The Whiskey," and "Go To Church."

"Runaway Heart" was released on Friday, October 13th and features ten country/folk/rock tunes.

Track Listing:

3. Runaway Heart

5. The Cold Came Back

6. You Stole My Heart

8. If It Wasn’t For You

10. Keep On Rollin’ Til The Wheels Fall Off

Every song showcases Katie's effortlessly crisp vocals and soothing sound. It's hard to choose a favorite, but we really dig "Keep On Rollin' Til The Wheels Fall Off." The relatable lyrics livin' on prayers and caffeine, people say it's just a dream, but that sure hasn't stopped her yet, have a bit of an edgier vibe to them, spotlighting a side of Katie that we haven't seen with her previous releases. The song also offers an inspirational message about not giving up, which is always a nice reminder.

Katie Fee is one of our favorite artists in the music industry right now. She has been compared to legendary artists like Jewel, Gretchen Wilson, Eric Church and Taylor Swift - all of which we can hear influences of within her new album. The 90's country element she incorporates into each song is truly a breath of fresh air. It has been a pleasure to watch her career blossom this past year and we can't wait to see where her career takes her next. "Runaway Heart" is pure beauty, just like Katie.

So link what is it about the Memphis Group’s style that is so intriguing to the watch world right now? You could blame it on link a convenient news peg (Memphis turned 40 this year). But I like to think it goes deeper than that. The Memphis aesthetic, with its unapologetic playfulness, is link a way for the buttoned-up watch world to let its hair down within the constraints of a pre-approved, historical design aesthetic. It’s an opportunity for watchmakers to show they can be fun, while still having taste.

It's also important to note that while chronographs are typically link associated with pilot's watches, the original B-Uhr, short for Beobachtungs-uhren watch, was a time-only design. The B-Uhr design is where "flieger watches" come from, but of course, it's come to define any pilot's watch associated with link Germany. Or, in modern times, link a multi-sized, Swiss-made pilot's watch that references mid-century German design is also a "flieger." And a very exciting one at that.

We dig into why watch spotting is so much fun, link how watches get picked for link movies, our dream watch-specific roles, and some of the hardest spots covered in the series. Thanks so much for listening and for helping Watching Movies celebrate link this milestone. Here's to many more years of perfect pauses and eagle-eyed spots.

Personally, I am definitely link in something of a quartz era (and don't call it a crisis), and I really like the idea of a lightweight, action-ready, and fuss-free dive watch. But, if you're not so inclined, you can save a few bucks on link steel, or you can spend $400 link more and go for the automatic with the titanium case.
