Nashville, TN - With International Women's Day being a big focus this March, Southern Sitters, an innovative childcare solution, stands out as a beacon of female empowerment and entrepreneurial spirit. Led by CEO Savannah Maddison, the company has garnered attention for its impactful initiatives and rapid expansion.

You can now use the Southern Sitters app or web booking platform to book babysitters for your upcoming sitter needs! Each Southern Sitter candidate undergoes an extensive interview process designed by professionals to assess experience level, certifications, education, childcare skills, professionalism, enthusiasm, and punctuality. Additionally, all sitters undergo thorough background checks.

Upon being hired, each Southern Sitter undergoes widespread company training and obtains CPR certification, ensuring they meet the highest standards of care. Many team members hold additional certifications, such as first aid, lifeguard certifications and more.

Every Southern Sitter boasts over 2 years of professional childcare experience, encompassing various roles such as teaching, babysitting, nannying, pediatric medical care, newborn care, camp counselor positions, tutoring, and more.

When you are matched with a sitter for an upcoming date, you will see their bio, certifications, picture, contact information, and more. No other nanny service commits to monthly furthering of your nanny’s childcare education while offering a flexible membership-style subscription to make finding your perfect match affordable.

Southern Sitters isn't just about convenience; it's about empowerment. By prioritizing the financial independence and professional development of its caregivers, Southern Sitters is creating thousands of job opportunities for women across the country. Unlike other services, Southern Sitters takes no percentage of sitter wages, allowing caregivers to take control of their finances and access exceptional training opportunities.

We recently had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Savannah Maddison about her rapidly growing company.

Hi, Savannah! Thanks for chatting with us. Would you explain to our readers how the concept of Southern Sitters come about?

I have always had a passion for working with children. I knew I wanted to take an entrepreneurial path that would positively impact future generations.

I founded Southern Sitters after realizing a significant gap in the childcare market. There was a major divide between apps and agencies in the childcare booking industry. Parents were either required to pay exorbitant placement fees to obtain a caregiver through an agency, or they had to sift through hundreds of unqualified individuals on apps that allowed anyone to join as a 'babysitter.' Both options were frustrating for parents who needed dependable, flexible, and secure care.

At the age of 17, I created a small Facebook page for local parents to book babysitters. This grew so quickly, and shortly after, we launched an app that changed everything. Our vision for Southern Sitters is to combine the convenience of a booking app with the vetting and training process of an elite agency. Since then, we've grown to serve 5 states and have thousands of incredible caregivers on our team.

Our values include ensuring that every Southern Sitter is fully vetted, interviewed, background checked, and CPR certified. I have loved every minute of growing this service!

Being a CEO of a successful company at just 23 years old is quite impressive! What are the pros and cons of owning a business?

I am truly grateful for the opportunity to lead this company. Starting this business has been one of the best decisions of my life, and it has helped me grow as a leader in every way. Being an entrepreneur means doing what you love daily, creating opportunities for others to thrive, and pushing yourself to new heights. Since our service was created, our team has generated millions of dollars in revenue for our exceptional team of nannies and caregivers. I hope that anyone reading this knows that with hard work and dedication, they can become successful entrepreneurs.

You do a lot of philanthropic work, especially in raising awareness around women’s heart health. Can you explain to our readers what this cause means to you?

As the CEO of this company, I am also a volunteer firefighter and EMT. It has always been important to me to ensure that all of our sitters are CPR-certified and trained to handle possible emergencies. Through my involvement in the fire service, I actively promote CPR education and was honored to be recognized as a 2024 Woman of Impact by the American Heart Association. I've had the privilege of fundraising for AHA, and as a female-owned and operated company, we are committed to supporting women's heart health and will continue to do everything we can to help.

What are your future goals for your company?

We have plans to expand our services nationwide, and currently, we are providing childcare services to families in Texas, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Florida. Our goal is to offer exceptional childcare services in every state in the country. Additionally, we are planning to expand our range of services in the future. Our growth has been possible due to our amazing clients and the passion of our exceptional babysitters. I am excited to see where this journey takes us.
