The South Carolina native is wearing her heart on her sleeve with the autobiographical new release that highlights the challenges and rewards of leaving her hometime to chase the bright lights of Music City. “I wrote the song ‘County Line,’ with Sam Woods; it’s more vulnerable than my earlier releases,” Becca said. “It’s about finding the courage to leave your hometown to start a new life. Or, in my case, chase a dream that led me to Music City.”
Emphasizing the juxtaposition between the comfortability of your hometown and the wonder of moving elsewhere, “County Line” begins with a nostalgic sentiment that is sure to resonate with listeners with its relatable sentiment. The chorus of the motivating yet reflective track highlights Becca’s father’s advice, in which he encourages her to embrace life and live it to the fullest. Premiered exclusively with Holler on November 1, Becca shared, “So many people will relate to this song. Everyone faces a point in their life when you have to make a choice to stay where you are or cross that county line.”
Mixing her glamorous, Southern Belle exterior with her bold and outdoorsy personality, the South Carolina native exudes confidence in who she is. She welcomes the juxtaposition of her look and personality, as showcased in the authenticity of her music. In 2020, Bowen released her debut single, “Love It, Leave It,” and was invited to compete in the Outdoor Channel’s popular reality show, For Love or Likes. She was named the winner of Season 5 in 2021, garnering a rapidly growing following and fanbase online, all eager for more music from the emerging star.
In 2022, Becca released her debut album, Like You’ve Never Been Loved, which laid the foundation for future releases like “If I’m Being Honest” and “Son Of A Gun” in 2023. The latter of which received support from the likes of People Country, Perez Hilton, CMT, Whiskey Riff and more, showcasing Becca’s innate ability to relate to listeners in all phases of life. Her talent for entertaining has also been highlighted this year as she guest stars as lead role opposite Chuck Wicks’ in the first of it’s kind live show Shiners which combines cirque, comedy and of course moonshine for a night of fun. This fall, Becca has headlined shows and festivals across the U.S., opened for Colt Ford, and performed at Nashville’s beloved Whiskey Jam. With upcoming performances, more new music on the way and momentum at an all time high, Becca is hitting her stride and shows no signs of slowing down.
