Greylan James Says It All with Debut EP I Hope She Hears These

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Celebrated writer and rising solo artist Greylan James is rounding out a collection of hard-hitting singles with the release of his debut EP, I Hope She Hears These, today, Friday, August 12. To celebrate the release of his debut EP, he’ll be opening up for Scotty McCreery in Colorado tonight.

The EP, containing two brand new tracks and three previously released singles, was expertly crafted to form a cohesive love letter to someone special as evidenced by the cheeky title.

On full display is Greylan’s knack for smart wordplay transporting listeners to specific yet universal moments, 3 minutes at a time. The writing leads to an authenticity often sacrificed for a catchy melody - but not when it comes to the young artist who has already carved out a defined lane in the genre with major cuts by Blake Shelton, Cole Swindell and his hometown hero Kenny Chesney to name a few. From debut single, “Anything Cold” to his latest release “Walls,” Greylan’s gritty, laid-back sound is perfectly captured on the self-produced project which he remarkably played every instrument for.

“After writing songs for other country artists' projects, I’m so excited to finally be putting out my own EP. These songs took a lot of living, heartbreak, alcohol, love, & time to create,” Greylan shared. “I think everyone can find themselves in one of these songs, and I’m glad they’re finally out of the vault and into the world.”

Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Greylan made his way to Nashville at 18 where he quickly signed with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) to a global publishing deal. Since then, he’s been featured on NBC’s The Voice, named one of the best guitarists in the world under 21 by Guitar Center Magazine’s Brotherhood of the Guitar Top 100 and earned his first No. 1 single with Kenny Chesney’s “Happy Does.” He’s racked up over 400,000 streams on Spotify alone thus far with only a handful of releases, and has also garnered support from People Country, American Songwriter and CMT among others. Between the many impressive accolades and rapid trajectory since his first single released earlier this year, it’s clear Greylan is a superstar just beginning to hit his stride.
