Nashville, Tenn. – Country artists Levi Hummon and Cassadee Pope are teaming up on their brand new sobering single “RSVP,” available today, Friday, October 28th. The track finds the two reminiscing on what could have been a perfect night after a rejected party invite. Written by, Levi Hummon, Eric Arjes and Cassadee Pope, “RSVP” cleverly blends the imagery of a raging party full of confetti, Solo cups and a visit from the cops with the emotional toll of disappointment in wondering what could have been.
“I have been a fan of Cassadee since her ‘Hey Monday’ days. I had our write circled in my calendar for months, and even though we had a few reschedules, the day the writing session took place with my producer, I knew I wanted to write a duet. It’s not often that you come out of a room having accomplished the exact goal of the write, but we did, and both Cassadee and I knew how special the song was,” Levi said. “I can honestly say this is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever been a part of, and I cannot wait for the world to hear it. So much of my music is about good times and parties, and so it means alot to put out a song that's about when the party's over so to speak, and things aren't quite what you hoped they would be. I know we can both relate to that in our lives.”
Accompanying the song, the “RSVP” official music video is slated to premiere tonight at 5pm CST on Vevo. Starring Levi and Cassadee, the intimate visual enhances the stripped-down single for an extra layer of heartache. Fans can tune into the premiere here.
"I’m so proud of the song Levi, Eric and I were able to create. It was important to us to really illustrate that ‘will they, won’t they’ scenario that so many of us have gone through,” Cassadee shared. “We kept Ross and Rachel in our minds the whole process and I think we captured that visual!"
