NASHVILLE, TENN. - (May 27, 2022) - Tess Frizzell, a member of one of Country music’s most legendary families, has released her debut single, “The Wrong One.” Tess Frizzell was born into Country Music Royalty, being the daughter of CMA/ACM Winner, Shelly West and successful singer/songwriter, Allen Frizzell. The new song was co-written by Billy Lawson, Bobby Tomberlin, Tess Frizzell and the late Dottie West, Frizzell’s grandmother. It was produced by Billy Lawson and recorded at Wishbone Studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

Country Music runs deep in her DNA with her Grandmother, Country Music Hall of Fame member Dottie West and her uncle Lefty Frizzell, who is also a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. Her mother and uncle, David Frizzell, recorded the award-winning classic, “You’re The Reason God Made Oklahoma.”

This song is real and raw, as most listeners have lived and loved and have experienced a relationship that they came to find wasn’t the right fit. What Tess loves about this song is there’s no villain, because not every story has a villain. Sometimes hearts break just trying to force something that isn't right. She is especially honored and feels special to see her name listed as co-writer with her grandmother, Dottie West. The song was born from lyrics Dottie started on a yellow notepad back in the 60’s. Tess picked up her heartbreak with her own some 50 years later and finished the song with co-writers Bobby Tomberlin and Billy Lawson. The beauty of singing about real emotions is knowing that even 50 years from now, someone could hear the finished song and relate to every word.
