The MLF Foundation recently issued seven $1,000 grants to Nashville area high schools to help establish new fishing clubs and offer more students the opportunity to learn about fishing and the outdoors. The grants were made possible via partnership with the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation (RBFF) and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. The George H.W. Bush Vamos A Pescar™ Education Fund is a grant program that funds state and local initiatives that focus on engaging Hispanic families in fishing, boating and conservation activities. “These two events were planned to not only serve the new clubs that received the grant money, but also provide an opportunity for everyone in the Nashville community to come out and enjoy a day out at the lake to celebrate fishing and the outdoors,” said Scott Ellison, MLF Promotions Manager. “We have three excellent special guests lined up for attendees to hear from, and we’re sure to see some big fish brought to the MLF scales during the tournament weigh-in on Percy Priest.” About the MLF Foundation The MLF Foundation has the mission to further the sport of bass fishing and protect the waters we all love to fish. The MLF Foundation is a 501c3 and will be leading the bass fishing industry to make sure our sport is carried on for generations to come.
