Nashville, TN (August 8, 2025) –Patty Loveless makes her landmark album, “Sleepless Nights,” available on vinyl for the very first time on August 8, 2025 via StarVista Music. Originally released in 2008, this deeply personal collection of classic country ballads remains one of the most beloved recordings in Loveless’ acclaimed catalog and was nominated for a GRAMMY® Award in the Best Country Album category. The new vinyl edition offers longtime fans a fresh opportunity to revisit one of country music’s most evocative albums. On August 15, a Denim Blue vinyl version will be released exclusively on RecordStoreDay.com Order “Sleepless Nights” on vinyl HERE and on exclusive Record Store Day Denim Blue vinyl HERE.
Crafted in close collaboration with her husband and longtime producer Emory Gordy Jr., Loveless handpicked 16 vintage country songs about heartbreak that she culled from an initial list of more than 500 and recorded them with an elite group of Nashville session players. Contributions from revered musicians such as Harold Bradley, John Hobbs, Hargus "Pig" Robbins, Harry Stinson, Steve Gibson, Biff Watson and Vince Gill (background vocals on the title track) shine in the vinyl version, adding new warmth and richness to the recordings.
“This project is a hybrid,” Loveless explains. “Some of the participants weren’t even born when these songs were written and recorded. Others actually played on the original recordings, such as Harold Bradley (guitar) and Billy Linneman (bass) along with Hargas “Pig” Robins (piano). Pig also played on my first demo session, a gift for my 16th birthday from Doyle Wilburn (Wilburn Brothers). It’s a mixture of the wisdom of the experienced, with the innocent enthusiasm of the new. It’s said that a hybrid will withstand the test of time. This then is a timeless blend of my heart and yours. I’m so glad to see it released on vinyl.”
Loveless has won five Country Music Association awards, three Academy of Country Music awards, two GRAMMY® Awards and an American Music Award. She became a member of the Grand Ole Opry on June 11, 1988 and has been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. She has released 21 albums, with four reaching platinum and 3 gold, and hit #1 on the country music singles chart nine times.
