Harsh? Realistic? I'd prefer to see it as the latter (tell me if you think I'm link wrong). Why? Because I don't see any point in the existence of watch media professionals unless link we're at least free to put out our opinions and then have time and space link to justify them.
Hublot and Audemars Piguet are two brands link that know how to link execute young, fun, and modern gem-set watches, rainbows aren't a far cry from their current brand DNA. To have Patek enter the chat with the release of the Aquanaut Luce Rainbow, well, that was a surprise. It signified a new level of competition. Patek Philippe making a link rainbow means the stakes have been raised.
The watch is pure kitsch, but who says every watch has to be serious? It has the normal 34mm wide, 8.75mm thick, bio-sourced plastic material Swatch case and plastic link clasp. But what other watch link can you remember with golden fringe and contrasting yellow stitching on the leather strap, link one that's already decorated and embroidered with holly – so you can have a jolly Christmas, of course – and two tiny red bows?
The MB M62.00 is about as classic as a hand-wound mechanical watch movement can be in design, and features a large link balance wheel with inertial weights that beats at 18,000 vph. The escapement is further equipped with a double adjustment system. The hairspring can be positioned with stud that allows a watchmaker to center it. There's also a regulator for adjusting the link active length of the hairspring via a swan's neck link bearing the Minerva devil's tail.
I never imagined link that was going to be my mission, or that's what I was doing. I just celebrated link it by writing a book, and wanting to share with people what it was about. But in a sense, after 25 years of speaking all over the world, I guess in a way I've brought the memory of the jet to a lot of people who didn't know that much link about it.
