While all these things bring much laughter and joy, they are even more entertaining when you add in music.
We all have our favorite Christmas songs. Whether it be a classic like Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" or a more modern tune like Ariana Grande's "Santa Tell Me," there's always something to sing along to this season - and we can add Danielle Cormier's "Merrier With You" to the mix!
Originally from Pinehurst, North Carolina, Danielle Cormier moved to Nashville after studying musical theatre at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. While in school, she realized that her true calling was to be a performing singer-songwriter after a performance that afforded her the opportunity to play guitar during her number.
Danielle's tone is soft, yet soulful, and is perfect for a holiday song. "Merrier With You" is a tune you can sit down, drink hot chocolate and put your feet up to, but it's also one that will have the family singing along while riding around looking at Christmas lights.
“Every year I release an original Christmas song. Originally, I had thought about recording a cover of a classic this year, but while I was looking, I became frustrated at my options and decided to write another one of my own. That’s where the inspiration started! I asked my friend, Karlie Bartholomew, to help me write the song and Merrier With You was born! We took our personal experiences of how we celebrate with our respective partners and put those ideas into the song. But, this song isn’t just for couples celebrating the holidays together…families, friends and roommates can all take something away from this. I hope that listeners can relate in finding those people who make the holiday season merrier.”
"Merrier With You" reminds us that it's not what you get under the tree this year that's important - it's the people you spend it with. Holidays are merrier with you. This year won't be so blue...We think that's a wonderful message that strongly resonates, especially during a global pandemic.
